Summer School - Program
General introduction to the following legal systems :Germany , England, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Scotland, Spain, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Turkey, Roumania, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland. Common analysis of mixed legal systems (Scotland, Malta, Québec and South Africa). Workshops where specific topics will be analysed throughout the different legal systems (transfer of title and non performance of a contract). A third part of the program focuses ont the fundamental role of supreme courts in each of the different legal systems (what is their role, how are they composed, how do they work and what is the style of the written decisions). A last part focuses on European law: Court of Justice of the European Union and Draft Common Frame of Reference. In 2013, a special session will be held with experts in order to discuss with the students the proposal for a EU regulation on a european common sales law. Most of the courses are taught in English. Some of the courses are taught in English as well as in another language (German, French, Spanish or Italian). During the workshops, students are divided in groups and students can participate in one of these languages. |
